Now, the question I have about the mayor is that the weather down in DC, a warmer than the weather here because it's got to be at least a little bit better. It is a little bit warmer in DC. But you know, we are dealing with that really cold pocket of air that is taking us just for one more day. But we are going to turn our eyes for the weekend an early look for what are some potential impacts for this storm. So some thunderstorms in December, that's what is possible for Sunday evening into Monday, steady rain isolated flooding high winds of 40 MPH or even stronger that can knock down some decorations even cause some scattered power outages and then temperatures start to crash. So we're forecasting a high of 61 on Sunday by Monday night. It's going to be in the 30. So that's something that we need to monitor in terms of tomorrow. Another very cold start, temperatures will be near 29 feeling much colder than that high. Tomorrow will be in the low forties, feeling like the mid thirties throughout the day. A few flurries possible by the early afternoon drying out and clouds clearing out by Friday. Seeing more of that sunshine seasonable fill with highs in the upper forties. Saturday will actually be the pick of the week. We're going to see that beautiful sunshine highs in the mid fifties and then we're watching for some stormy weather on Sunday.

Ok. We started off with some really cold temperatures today, but you say things are gonna change, things are gonna change tomorrow will still be a nice chilly start, but we start to improve. Certainly for your Saturday, Saturday is gonna be a good day to get out and about take care of some things. Christmas decorating shopping, make sure that those decorations are tied tight. Sunday. We got a lot of rain and wind which are really gonna tear things down. I guess you could say as we get into your Sunday, I'm gonna show you what things look like in a little bit. But again for today, we're working with that colder air. 39 is the forecast said hi, we're really gonna feel like the thirties through out the day. Again, those feel like numbers for the later part of this morning are really gonna be in the twenties 26 for Newtown, 27 for orange and heading into this afternoon, we'll try to feel like the thirties will be at or around freezing. And again, once you catch those strong bursts of wind or those gusts, it's certainly gonna give you a winter like, feel So you do got a brace for that for your today tonight. It will be a chilly start for you tomorrow, we do start to rebound as we head into your Friday afternoon, we finally feel like the forties. And then the next story is Sunday's rain. We're watching for heavy rain that we know strong damaging winds gusts upwards to 40 maybe 50 MPH that we know. It's just the timing we're really trying to get, uh, in, I guess you can say congruence as we push forward into right now, looks to be the later half of your sunny so sunny morning looks to be ok if you got to run some errands. But listen, again, as mentioned, if you got those holiday decorations up around the house, you do want to maybe secure them a little bit tighter, maybe take them down because as we work with this heavy rain, which won't be the biggest issue. We could still see some coastal flooding. It's going to be those strong gusty winds upwards to 4050 maybe even 60 MPH for some spots. And again, as far as rainfall totals for right now, we're looking at maybe an inch to two when things are all said and done. But again, Sunday, the second half of your day into the early parts of your Monday will be the be that time period that we're watching for the system, um, to really bring in some messy weather as we wrap up the weekend and open up next and as we're getting into your Monday, yeah, we're looking at 58 degree high. That's gonna be for that very early part of your Monday. As we have that strong cold front, bringing in chillier air temperatures will be on the decline throughout the day. Becky.

Let's just shout out and Gen Zs who are like Santa, we're gonna, we're gonna Instagram account. Meanwhile, I've never been more like eager to get to the mailbox when I get home. I'm like, yes his card, the holiday cards can to brighten up your mood on a bad weather day. We had some bad weather days. I don't get them from the mailbox on that day. Well, someone's going to have to for you and then your mood will be brightened, right? As uh as uh we take a look at our storm watch featurecast for Sunday. So today and through Saturday overall, no major weather impacts, but we just want to make sure you are planning ahead for and ready for what is likely to come on Sunday, Sunday morning. It looks dry right now, but there will be an increasing chance for periods of rain showers to develop a Sunday afternoon. Now, this is not really what we're concerned about. The concern comes in Sunday evening and Sunday night as the intensity of the rain ramps up after eight or nine o'clock, Sunday night, it'll be warm. Temperatures will be in the upper fifties to near 60 at the same time the wind is picking up too, but expect a good soaking rain Sunday evening up and through about say four o'clock or so on Monday. Now, a of times, computer models can't handle the wind gusts, well, several days out from a storm like this. So I don't expect widespread 50 mile per hour gusts. But I do expect those winds to ramp up in the 30 to 40 mile per hour range of times. And that can lead to some scattered power outages. Sunday night into early on Monday. In addition to blowing around those holiday decorations that you might have up as far as today goes, go with the heavy cold all day. It's a very similar day to yesterday. A couple of flurries around the light pass snow shower, otherwise mostly cloudy and dry with highs in the upper thirties today. So mood canst stay overall today is fine. Just watch out for a little brief light snow shower throughout the day. Highs in the upper thirties overnight tonight, back down to around 30 or so for those late night temperatures into tomorrow morning. Nice and more seasonable tomorrow pick of the week. Saturday 54 a storm comes in Sunday evening into very early Monday morning. The rest of next week looks dry with highs in the forties.

I'm meteorologist Rich Hoffman. Your hyperlocal weather forecast. We're in storm watch for heavy rain and strong winds coming in towards Sunday. But with the start of Hanukkah starting this evening at 425 that's our sunset. You're gonna see the clouds around now out towards the east and you've seen a little bit more sunshine. We do have the cloudy skies giving way to partly cloudy skies overnight and it's gonna feel cold, bundle up heading out for this evening. There still is that flurry or a passing rain or snow shower this afternoon? Best chance of that western areas of Long Island as we go throughout the rest of our day. Now, if you're going to be on Rosslyn, uh, through this evening temperature at five o'clock near 38 degrees. Yeah, bundle up. Here's the cold weather then into midnight around 34 waking up tomorrow morning on the partly cloudy skies. Your Friday starts off with temperatures around 30 degrees and then Saturday, Friday, we're looking good. It's Sunday that we are tracking out wet weather. As of right now, the rain develops during Sunday afternoon and becomes steadier and heavier as we go to Sunday evening, here's 545 on Sunday. There's that heavy rain overnight into Monday morning, still raining during your morning rush hour and then the weather improves for Monday afternoon. But as the cold front comes through, it's gonna get warm and then the gusty winds are gonna be developing winds on Sunday afternoon, 40 to potentially 50 MPH. And there's a chance that we see some higher gusts along the south shore and the east end. So you want to secure your Christmas decorations on Saturday for the strong gusty winds on Sunday. So let's go through the rest of the day. You're looking at 41 for your high 30 tonight and then four, your Friday mostly sunny to a mixture of sun and clouds. Temperatures, mid and upper forties. So Friday's ok. Saturday is looking good sun and clouds at 55 and then Sunday afternoon, Sunday night into Monday, the threat of heavy rain, strong winds, some power outages and then chilly next week. But generally dry weather conditions happy Hanukkah from M 12.

Weather conditions are gonna get pretty nasty for Sunday and that's something that I want to bring to your attention here. We still aren't too sure about the timing but we know what's coming. So let's start off with tonight's forecast, which is actually really good for Hanukkah. If you're celebrating Hanukkah, it is gonna be a beautiful evening here with a mixture of clouds as the sun sets in a cold evening tonight. So as you head over to family festivities or you're gonna have a Latke or a jelly doughnut or have a beautiful meal with family and friends. It's just going to be lovely as we head into tonight. Now, tomorrow, it's going to be a nice day, but we do have some interesting weather on the horizon for Sunday and I just want you to be aware that it will rain Sunday in the afternoon and evening, but I think a squall is most likely at night. What's the timing? We're not too sure yet. It's something that's to be determined and there will be downpours in addition to some strong gusts and those gusts that come in with those downpours could be upwards of 30 to 50 MPH. That's a problem. Right. So, here's the futurecast flurry is moving out of the way. We do clear up tonight into tomorrow morning where there will just be a few clouds to wake up with 31 degrees for Friday morning. But then into the fifties in Ocean County for Friday afternoon, 50 to 51 from Toms River to Jackson, 49 degrees in the northern areas of the state. 48 up in Morristown, a really nice and mostly sunny sky and you'll enjoy this lovely weather for Friday because it's not just Friday, you're going to see it, you're going to see it again on Saturday. So, hey, if you got to work on Friday, I gotta work. You're going to miss it, but it Saturday, you won't because it's going to be even much better. 53 in Newark, Belmar Monmouth County, 55 near 60 in Toms River, northern areas of the state too. Morris County and Warren County also upwards of about 53 along with 49 over in Sussex. It's just a beautiful day. It's just going to give way to this yuckiness as we get into Sunday. So Sunday, we have a front, the timing is uncertain and it's likely for the late evening and I want you to expect downpours when this front does arrive and a 15 minute window of time that's going to be with dangerous wind gusts of 30 to 50 MPH and torrential downpours. Now, there could be some showers before that squall gets to your neighborhood. And that's one of the caveats that we're kind of working out here with Sunday night's weather. It's not the worst storm ever, but it's something that is notable because if you have the inflatable outdoor decorations, you want them deflated in time for the strong wind gusts on Sunday. We're going to do our best to let you know at what time it comes. Here's the next couple of days, we'll talk more about the 10 day coming up.
