A 24-year-old man was killed when his car went off of the overpass on Route 8 and landed on railroad tracks below in Beacon Falls, police say.

The incident happened Monday on Route 8 near exit 24.
According to police, the car went off of the Route 8 overpass and landed on railroad tracks below.
The man killed is identified as Jonathan Vazquez, 24, of Derby.
Route 8 was closed for several hours while authorities investigated.
Rail service was also shut down for a time but has since resumed.
Police did not say what caused the crash.
