One person was killed and several others were injured in an accident involving four vehicles in Stamford.
State police say the crash happened early Saturday morning on I-95, between exits 7 and 6.
Troopers say a car broke down in the right lane. Two other vehicles stopped to help. A fourth car then crashed into the three stopped vehicles.
State police say the person who died had stopped to help the broken-down driver. He has been identified as 18-year-old Derian Garaicoa-Ortega, of Long Island.
Officials say the other victims are expected to be OK.
The accident closed part of the highway, leaving only one lane open while police investigated.
