Two teenagers from Orange were killed early Saturday morning after colliding with a Milford police cruiser.
The fatal accident happened at the intersection of Boston Post and Dogwood roads in Orange at around 3 a.m.
According to state police, Milford police officer Jason Anderson was returning from West Haven after assisting police with a public disturbance. That's when a Mazda SUV turned suddenly into his path, authorities say.
Police say Ashlie Krakowski, 19, was driving and traveling in the opposite direction as Anderson, when she made a sudden left turn, crossing in front of the cruiser. David Sevin, 19, was in the passenger seat and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Krakowski was cut out of the SUV when authorities arrived on the scene, but was later pronounced dead at St. Raphael Hospital. The officer was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Connecticut State Police say they will continue to investigate the accident.
