Two University of Connecticut students are suing the school after they were arrested for allegedly shouting a racial slur outside of a campus apartment complex.
The two students say the school is violating their free speech rights by holding disciplinary proceedings.
They are asking for damages and an end to those proceedings. The university said it will not comment on pending litigation.
The incident happened on Oct. 11 and was recorded by a black student, sparking protests.
