3 Norwalk officers hurt while chasing suspect
Three police officers are recovering this evening after they were hurt chasing a suspected drug dealer in Norwalk. The officers were pursuing the suspect Wednesday night on School Street. Police say the suspect fought with an officer when they tried to pat him down. The suspect, identified as Cody Greene, was hit with a Taser but continued to struggle. Detectives say Greene possessed nearly 40 bags of marijuana at the time, prompting the takedown. In an email written to News 12 Connecticut, a woman claiming to be the suspect's relative questioned the officers' actions. She indicated that Greene suffered a "severe and unnecessary beating." Greene was taken to a hospital, where he allegedly fought with the medical staff and had to be sedated. His condition is unknown. The three officers were also hospitalized, but are expected to recover.
