A nine-year-old girl at Westwood Terrace in Danbury was saved from drowning Sunday afternoon, according to the Danbury Fire Department.

She was pulled from a backyard pool by a bystander, who administered first aid immediately.

By the time emergency responders arrived, the child was awake and breathing.

She was taken to the hospital, but her condition is currently unknown.
