Ten people a day will die on average between Memorial Day and Labor Day across the United States, according to AAA.

Police, driving instructors and AAA are urging parents to keep their teens safe during the so-called 100 Deadliest Days. 

Data shows a 22 percent in fatal crashes involving teenagers during that span.

"The best thing parents can do is discuss the risks of driving with teen drivers," says AAA spokesperson Fran Mayko. "They could teach by example: Don't use a cellphone in the car. Don't use electronics."

Nighttime is also more dangerous for teens, experts say, and there is a little-enforced curfew for young drivers. Speeding is another one of the biggest dangers to teen drivers, authorities say.
