The superintendent for Amity Regional Schools spoke to News 12 Connecticut today about possible changes in the way the district's high school handles drug searches on campus.

Currently, drug-sniffing dogs can search lockers, backpacks and even cars.

Superintendent Dr. John Brady says that a Board of Education committee is suggesting the dogs be brought near students found to have drugs in their property. If a dog detects drugs on a student, a search would then be performed by a faculty member.

The Board of Education will vote on this proposed change on June 11.
