Towns and cities throughout Western Connecticut honored Memorial Day with parades.
Hundreds of people came out in Norwalk to take part in the annual Norwalk Memorial Day Parade.
Many attendees say every year they come out bright and early dressed in red, white and blue to secure their spot on the street.
The event features dozens of youth sports teams, scout troops and community groups.
This year, Gov. Ned Lamont joined in on the fun.
Organizers say this event aims to bring people together and remind them the true meaning behind Memorial Day, honoring those who have fought and continue to fight for our freedoms.
