The 35th Annual Milford Oyster Festival began Friday and includes donations of food and wine from nine restaurants and a liquor store, with oysters coming in from as far south as Virginia.
Nearly 200 volunteers have been putting the festival together, including a stage for the bands that will be performing. On the Green, arts and crafts vendors are setting up.
The festival runs through Aug. 15 and costs $45 to attend the tasting. The money will go to about 80 different local charities.
