Dealers who rented space inside the Old Yale and Towne building in Stamford claim they are being kept from their property.
While a massive blaze destroyed much of the building last week, dealers say not everything was lost. They want to get inside to see what they can salvage but claim they are being blocked by yellow tape.
Meanwhile, investigators reportedly say the six-alarm fire spread because the sprinkler system was shut off. The Advocate reports the former owner shut down the system years ago due to cracked and broken pipes. The current owners were aware of the problem and had started the repairs.
