Sen. Richard Blumenthal announced that he is bringing an Army veteran from Fairfield to the State of the Union address in Washington, D.C. Tuesday.
Army veteran Alex Plitsas helped evacuate hundreds of people from Afghanistan following the withdrawal of U.S. troops.
Blumenthal is currently sponsoring the Afghan Adjustment Act to provide a pathway to citizenship for Afghan allies currently in the U.S. under temporary humanitarian status - a bill that Plitsas supports.
