'Be careful when you're on your cellphone'. Bridgeport officials relay safety message following pedestrian accidents

Officials say there have been a total of 6 pedestrian accidents in the city so far in 2024.

Following a number of serious pedestrian accidents in Bridgeport, city officials are sending out a safety message.
Bridgeport's Chief of Police Roderick Porter says, "Be careful when you're on your cellphone. If you're texting while you're walking, be cautious when you get to intersections."
Mayor Joe Ganim added to Porter's message saying pedestrian accidents are preventable by just being aware and cautious.
