Milford officials are warning beachgoers to use caution at Silver Sands State Park following last year's drowning.
Officials say they have posted warning signs along the beach, alerting residents to the dangers of the sandbar, tides and currents.
Last July 4th weekend, a 34-year-old Hamden man drowned and a 9-year-old boy had to be rescued. Another person died at the beach back in 1998.
Milford Mayor Ben Blake says that the signs are meant to keep people safe during tide changes.
