A staple in the Stamford community, founded by a Holocaust survivor in 1949, is closing its doors for good.
Bedford Jewelers owners say while COVID-19 made things more challenging, it was time to retire.
The store has been a fixture in Ridge Plaza for over two decades, with the area being its fifth home.
The founder built his business as a way to give his family a secure life in America after World War II. He says now that his children are nearing retirement age, he's ready for a new chapter.
The store will still be selling jewelry over the next few days.
Harry Weinroth and his wife, Ruth, say the most important thing they learned has nothing to do with gems or metals, but instead the value of honesty in building a bond with people.
The final day to stop in is on Saturday.
