The beloved owner of Mainport Fish & Chips in Bridgeport is being mourned following his sudden fatal heart attack.  
Mourners gathered outside of Mainport Fish & Chips on North Avenue to remember Mohammad Asiffor his decades of service to the community.
Virtually everybody who's spent time at Mainport Fish & Chipson North Avenue had a heartwarming story to tell about Asif.
Asif was a proud father of six who came to the U.S. from Afghanistan 35 years ago in search of the American dream.
The 51-year-old passed away Monday morning at his home in Seymour from a heart attack, his family says.
Asif's sister joined friends and local leaders for a vigil at the business this morning, one day after his funeral.
They say Asif was a hardworking American who gave generously to help anybody who was in need.
He's remembered for being a hardworking father, husband and businessman who never failed to put people before profit.
His family says the big turnout at the funeral shows just how loved this man was.
