Bond set at $1M for man accused of killing man, burning evidence
Bridgeport police say they've arrested a city man who shot and killed another man, then lit his car on fire.
Anthony Reeves, 34, is also being charged with arson, says Police Chief AJ Perez.
Reeves allegedly gunned down Jason Nieves, 28, as he sat in his car in the city's North End on June 7.
Later, police say, Reeves and an accomplice returned to the scene and lit the car on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence. Police arrested the alleged accomplice, 62-year-old Larry Tinsley, earlier this month.
Steven Nieves says the loss of his son has devastated his family. Some relatives came to tears outside the courthouse after a judge ordered Reeves held on $1 million bond.
He's due back in court next month.
