Starting today, travelers can get a direct flight to Jamaica from Bradley International Airport in Connecticut.

Officials say it's the first time that a nonstop flight to Jamaica is being offered from Bradley International Airport.

Officials gathered at a media conference yesterday for the new Spirit Airlines flights at Bradley airport.

The non-stop flights will operate year-round, four times a week. It's the first time any airline that services Bradley is offering a nonstop flight to the island of Jamaica.

State officials say they worked to get the direct flights from Bradley because of the large Jamaican community in Connecticut.
