A Bridgeport anti-poverty agency is helping families who are expected to lose their food stamp benefits due to cuts by the Trump administration.
Hundreds of families came by ABCD headquarters on Park Avenue to pick up bags of foods.
Executive Director Dr. Monette Ferguson tells News 12 that ABCD is stepping up to supplement those cuts. Students, parents and teachers at Fairfield Prep held a food drive to benefit the cause.
The food stamp cuts is expected to impact thousands of Americans. It goes into effect on April 1.
