A Bridgeport attorney says scammers are taking advantage of people a lot more than usual due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Attorney Bill Bloss, with Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder, used to work for the Federal Trade Commission and says there are scams like online COVID-19 tests or test kits for diabetes.
Bloss says there's no such thing. He also says there are fake calls and texts from the IRS to confirm personal information to send you a check.
Bloss says you should never get a call from the federal government.
Anyone who feels they've been a victim of a scam is encouraged to contact their local police department or the Better Business Bureau.
