A Bridgeport boy celebrated his fourth birthday Sunday after a near-death experience left him in a coma for 24 hours.
Lukas Bello was in critical condition one week ago after his grandmother accidentally rolled up an electric car window on his neck when they went to the laundromat.
Jody Bello, his mother, says Lukas was critically wounded and stuck until a good Samaritan broke the car window with his elbow.
He was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, then airlifted to Yale New Haven, where the family says he was placed in a medically induced coma for 24 hours.
She says Lukas, at one point, died and was brought back to life by medical professions who left her filled with gratitude.
Lukas made a complete recovery. The family says the experience has deepened their appreciation for the simple things in life, like good health and the safety of your loved ones.
