(03/29/06) BRIDGEPORT ? An early morning fire swept through a Bridgeport home Wednesday and killed a mother and her toddler daughter.
A police officer driving past the scene noticed the flames and sprung into action. The officer managed to pull a disabled man from the burning, three-family home. However, the flames prevented the officer from going back into the residence to rescue the man?s daughter, Ramona Holliday, 30, and granddaughter. Investigators are on the scene trying to determine the cause of the fire.
The survivor, Javis Holliday, 59, is being treated for second and third-degree burns at Bridgeport Hospital.
