A Bridgeport father accused of killing his young daughter faced a judge in connection with the suspected incident Monday.
Police say 33-year-old Miguel Roldan admitted to beating his 5-year-old daughter, Yulissa, to death in their apartment Friday. Investigators also say Roldan's 7-year-old son was present during the beating and can corroborate the story. Both the son and Roldan's 3-month-old child are in DCF custody. Police say the children's mother was at work when the beating occurred.
According to police, paramedics responded to Roldan's apartment where they found Yulissa unconscious. They took her to Bridgeport Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The medical examiner announced Monday that the death was a homicide, caused by blunt trauma to the abdomen.
Roldan spent the weekend behind bars being held in lieu of $1 million bond.Related Information
