A Bridgeport man was pinned between his work van after being struck by a truck in Stamford.  

The incident happened Wednesday on Wildwood Road near Indian Rock Road just before 4:30 p.m.

Police say a work van was parked partially in a driveway and partially in the street.

They say the 31-year-old Bridgeport man was putting construction materials in the van when a pickup truck hit the van.

The victim then became pinned between the pickup truck and the van from the impact.

Police say another truck came upon the scene and one of the people inside used heavy duty straps to pull the cars apart before paramedics got there.

The victim was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

Police say the driver of the pickup told officers he didn't see the van.

He stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

No charges have been filed at this time.
