Bridgeport mayor outlines development plans in speech
Bridgeport Mayor John Fabrizi delivered an unofficial "State of the City" speech before the Bridgeport Regional Business Council Thursday.
Fabrizi talked about development projects that could have a huge impact on the city and its residents. The three projects are Steel Point, the Pequonnock site and the old Remington Shaver factory. Officials from Fabrizi's office say all three locations will be redeveloped for some type of mixed use.
The head of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, Paul Timpinelli, says the three projects will significantly impact the city's economy. Timpinelli believes when completed, tax revenue to the city could be close to $15 million a year. He also says the projects could create as many as 9,000 jobs.
