Bridgeport Mayor Joseph P. Ganim signed off on the city's budget for its next fiscal year.

The budget provides an extra $1 million to city schools and almost $2 million to public libraries.

It will also save millions of dollars by refinancing debt and municipal spending.

The $561 million budget also provides assistance to evacuee students from Puerto Rico.
