An arson investigation is underway in Bridgeport, as police seek two people they say set a store on fire while the owner was still inside.
Jamal Ahid's store, Wood's Mart Variety, went up in flames Sunday night. He says the suspects deliberately poured gas on store and set it aflame while he was behind the register.
A stunned Ahid ran out of the store unharmed. Customers and friends consoled him outside the charred store.
Bridgeport police and fire officials are investigating the situation as an arson, and have surveillance video they say shows the suspects dousing the store with gasoline.
Police are asking the public for help finding the people responsible. Anyone with information is asked to contact them.
