Bridgeport schools to shift to remote learning Nov. 23

School officials say the decision to start remote learning on Nov. 23 was in consultation with the superintendent, the city’s health director, as well as other city leaders including the Board of Education.

Bridgeport School Superintendent Mike Testani announced that Bridgeport Public Schools will shift to remote learning starting on Nov. 23.
He said the announcement comes in response to an increase in people impacted or testing positive to the coronavirus.
School officials say the decision to start remote learning on Nov. 23 was in consultation with the superintendent, the city’s health director, as well as other city leaders including the Board of Education.
On Thursday, Gov. Ned Lamont released a map showing 80% of Connecticut's populaion living in a red-alert area - with Bridgeport among the hardest hit spots.
BPS will continue to provide students with “grab & go” meal services and will continue to provide updates of any other developments. Below is the letter that was issued by the superintendent to the parents, guardians, teachers and school administrators.
