The Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport has offered a series of free master classes taught by professional artists in all fields of entertainment.
Laurence Caso, a former CBS Network executive and producer, is the executive director of the Klein. He will give one of the master classes on producing and developing shows for television this week.
"These master classes are interactive sessions. We involve the audience in some way," Caso explains. "Producing is a very ambiguous title. You can look on the screen and see so many different producers listed. As a member of the Producer's Guild, I'll be able to clarify that and we'll get into the skills."
"I think this is a great resource for the community because it's about education. We want to teach our children the skills of communication and also to know there are many jobs within the field of communication, theater and film," says Klein director of education Maureen Hamill.
Caso's master class will be this Monday at 6 p.m. at the Klein.
The classes are an extension of the Klein Theater Arts Program and are paid for by a federal grant.
