A wide net was cast for poll workers this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and a theater worker from Orange decided to answer the call.
Connor Deane, the founder of the Broadway Method Academy, will be playing the role of ballot clerk on Election Day.
He told News 12 that he always wanted to be involved in politics and he was trained on how to keep the process smooth on Nov. 3.
“Americans have a really important choice to make…and I don't want anything getting in the way of that,” he says. “I'm a proud American and I want to make sure democracy plays out.”
Though masks are required at polling sites, Connor says those without masks will be able to vote curbside.
