Stray gunfire struck a family's apartment in the Trumbull Gardens housing complex Monday, according to a woman who lives there.
Police have stepped up patrols near the Trumbull Avenue complex amid a rash of shootings, including the incident on Monday.
The back door at the woman's apartment appears to have at least one bullet hole. The woman who lives there says she hasn't slept in days out of fear.
Police say the increased patrols will continue until residents feel safe again.
Officials say they have not made any arrests in connection with the shots fired at the complex. .
