Today's blazing temperatures may have kept most residents indoors, but for construction workers in southwestern Connecticut, it was business as usual.
Workers in Fairfield spent the day building a girl's softball field, despite the high temperatures.
Over in Redding, construction crews kept cool by drinking iced water and seeking refuge in air-conditioned vehicles.
Most construction workers worked full days today until about 3 p.m., but some crews in New Caanan had a half-day because of the heat.
