A Bronx woman who became a foster mother to her friend?s children is now preparing to go to court to fight to adopt them.
Aida Colon says her friend from Oklahoma was forced to give up her children and wanted Colon to become their foster mother. Colon was later planning on adopting the four kids, however, due to a mistake made by child welfare in Oklahoma, the children were taken from Colon.
Colon and her lawyer will be in court Friday to try and gain custody of the children. Colon?s lawyer says Fred Woodrow, the caseworker in Oklahoma, made a series of errors in Colon?s case and tried to cover them up. According to Colon?s lawyer, though Woodrow doesn?t have a history of problems with his work, his errors in Colon?s case should not be taken lightly.
