One of the most hotly contested races this year is in Stratford, where four candidates are looking to unseat the town's first mayor.
Democratic Mayor Jim Miron and his campaign staff say they're not taking a single vote for granted. The mayor's campaign workers here have been focused Tuesday on getting out the vote.
Republican John Harkins is no stranger to Connecticut politics and is currently serving his seventh term as a state representative. He says his main goals are to keep property taxes in check and examine the town's hiring process.
Independents George Mulligan and Dominick Costello are also running for mayor. Miron narrowly defeated Costello in the last mayoral election four years ago.
