Candidates spent the final weekend before Election Day making phone calls and going door-to-door to encourage residents to vote.
News 12 caught up with Sen. Chris Murphy as he addressed a group of Democrats in Stratford.
"It's not hard to vote this year and we want to see record turn out across the state,” he says.
Democrat Phil Young, who is running for state representative in Stratford, told the crowd he had been to a women's house for the third time that day.
"It sends a clear message to people that this is an important election and in Stratford we need to get as many people out to vote as we possibly can,” says Young.
News 12 also hit the street with Young's opponent, Republican Jim Feehan.
"I don't think there will be a problem with voter turnout...a lot of people everywhere I go know about the election are engaged and they want to make changes,” says Feehan.
Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Matt Corey was also out pounding the pavement in Norwalk earlier this week and spreading his message to other parts of the state Sunday.

Connecticut residents who haven’t had a chance to register to vote shouldn’t worry. This year, residents can register on Election Day by going down to their Town Hall or their City Hall and then vote on the same day.
