A Bridgeport police officer was injured when a car slammed into his parked cruiser, police say.
The incident happened near Island Brook and Colonial avenues around 10 p.m. Sunday.
The officer's cruiser was struck by another vehicle while he was parked at that intersection waiting for the Department of Transportation to fix a broken traffic light.
Police say the officer had to be extricated from his cruiser.
Officials did not say what the extent of the officer's injuries were.
