Car smashes into Westport mobile home
After a car crashed into Susan Palmer's home yesterday, she is counting herself lucky that she wasn't home at the time of the incident.
Police say a car was rear-ended on Post Road East Saturday night and went between two trees before winding up in the home's back bedroom.
"If I'd been home 10 minutes earlier, I could have been a victim in there," says Palmer.
She says that something should be done to prevent further issues on the road.
"I think they should lower the speed limit or just put guard rails or something to prevent this," she says.
The state Department of Transportation and the Westport Police Department both say while the accident was terrible, it is the exception and there are not more accidents there than on other parts of the road.
