A  Bridgeport cemetery manager has been ordered by a judge to resign over multiple burial fraud cases.
Dale LaPrade was ordered to step away as manager of the Park Cemetery by a superior court judge Thursday. She was also asked to hand over all records to police.
Families who have loved ones buried at the grounds say LaPrade allowed recently deceased bodies to be placed top of old burial plots that were being used.
There have also been allegations of bodies missing from graves.
Cindy Lagor says her aunt was buried at Park Cemetery in 1985 and cannot be located.
"They can't find her in the book and I have in her death certificate that this is where she's buried and I know she's buried here," Lagor says.
A recent lawsuit also rose complaints about tire tracks on burial plots and sunken graves.
Families and local politicians say the court ruling is a day of justice, but what happened under LaPrade's leadership was inexcusable.
"It hurts the community itself," says Democratic Town Committee member Tony Barr, who has friends and family buried at the cemetery. "It hurts the people--the families are hurting."
LaPrade is not facing any charges, officials say.
