City council approves Bridgeport anti-violence curfew
The Bridgeport City Council has voted in favor of a curfew to keep kids under 17 off the streets after midnight. The measure was initially introduced after 14-year-old Justin Thompson was shot and killed back in January. Legislators say there was a renewed push for the curfew after Kaijahnae Robinson was fatally shot over the weekend. The policy requires anyone under 17 to be indoors by either 11 p.m. or midnight, depending on the day. The American Civil Liberties Union previously said it would challenge any approved curfew.
