City and state officials say they hope a $9 million beach pavilion will be rebuilt by next year after it was destroyed in a fire.
The project, located at Silver Sands State Park, was destroyed in a fire back in March. Connecticut State Parks Director Tom Tyler tells News 12 that construction to rebuild the pavilion will go on throughout the summer, but that it won't limit access to the park.
He says before they rebuild, inspections need to be completed. There is no timeline for when that will be done.
The construction is expected to take six to eight months following the inspection. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
