? The cleanup continues in Orange where a tanker overturned on Route 34, spilling oil along the road and into a river.
The Department of Environmental Protection says about 2,500 gallons of fuel spilled Saturday. Officials say residents are lucky the tanker did not explode. The DEP also says some of the oil fell through a storm drain, carrying it to the Housatonic River. However, the DEP maintains that the spill does not pose an environmental risk.
Authorities say the tanker rolled over around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Route 34 and Grassy Hill Road. Witnesses rushed to help the driver, who is recovering from minor injuries. Several businesses were closed in the surrounding area.
