Cleanup crews are saying they hope that they will have the remaining oil from an earlier to spill to be removed by this week.
Enivronmental experts say that 300 gallons of heating fuel leaked from a storage tank earlier this week making residents worried about the long-term affects of this spill.
When the oil leaked, it flowed into Sunrise Hill Pond, located behind the Sunrise Hill Condiminium Complex, which is now convered in a layer of film filled with dozens of dead fish.
Officials say the oil came from a boiler at a nearby school that had malfunctioned and leaked into a creek that leads to the pond.
Gardner Herbert, who says city officials contracted his company, Herbert Recovery Systems, for the cleanup. Herbert says the cleanup process could take a few more days.
Efforts by News 12 Connecticut to reach the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection about progress on the cleanup were unsuccessful.
