(03/28/06) STRATFORD ? Detectives and family members of a slain mother are still searching for answers in a notorious Stratford cold case.
Twenty-one-year-old Shani Baldwin was killed in her apartment on March 28, 2001. At the time of the murder, the pregnant mother?s 2-year-old daughter was also in the apartment. The daughter was not harmed. It was later determined the murderer slashed Baldwin?s throat.
Police and relatives say they?re still haunted by Baldwin?s death five years after the murder. Some of Baldwin?s relatives still don't want to be identified because the killer has never been brought to justice. Stratford detectives working the case keep a photo of the victim and an old newspaper article near their desks as a constant reminder of the brutal crime.
Anyone with information on Baldwin?s murder is urged to call (203) 385-4122. A $55,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the murderer.
