A Westport candy and ice cream shop held a sweet fundraiser today for children and families in need.
Organizers say the money raised from Cones for Kids will help children and families battling cancer and rare blood disorders.
The event was held at Saugatuck Sweets, owned by Al DiGuido.
DiGuido is also the president of Al's Angels, an organization that helps children and families battling illnesses. He says he hopes to raise at least $100,000 for the charity, with the help of the community.
Organizers say Danny's Drive-In in Stratford and Overton's Seafood in East Norwalk were also raising money for Al's Angels today.
They say the fundraiser will be held Sunday as well.
