(AP) - Connecticut's second highest court hasthrown out the conviction of a former elementary school teacher inan accident that killed three people.
Tricia Coccomo had been sentenced to 12 years in prison for thedrunken driving accident in 2005.
The Appellate court Wednesday reversed the conviction based onher claim that the prosecutor had falsely claimed some of Coccomo'sactions were signs of "consciousness of guilt."
Coccomo was returning from a party when her car crossed intooncoming traffic and struck a vehicle driven by 72-year-old JamesInverno of Stamford.
Inverno and his 58-year-old wife, Barbara, were killed alongwith their family friend and passenger, 23-year-old Glenn Shelleyof Norwalk.
A message seeking comment was left with Coccomo's lawyer.
