(AP) - Gov. M. Jodi Rell says she'll allow a$37.6 billion budget bill approved by the Democrat-led GeneralAssembly to become law without her signature, but will use herline-item veto to eliminate about $8 million in what she calls porkprojects.

Rell criticized the budget as calling for more borrowing andvague plans for future spending. "I do not believe in thisbudget," she says.

But the governor says she's allowing the bill to become lawbecause people in Connecticut are feeling the effects of the budgetstalemate.

Connecticut has been without a budget since the beginning of thefiscal year July 1.
