Volunteers from Connecticut are already in the Gulf Coast states, aiding the victims of Hurricane Gustav and helping to prepare for Hurricane Ike.
Ike is predicted to strike Texas as a Category 3 hurricane by the end of the week.
According to a Red Cross director in Greenwich, the volunteers are ready to adapt to any situation.
?You need to be flexible because the disaster will constantly change and we need to constantly be updating to those changes,? commented Tim Wall.
The Red Cross reports that Hurricane Gustav has cost them more than $70 million and assume that Ike will cost them even more.
