The controversy surrounding day laborers intensified in Danbury Saturday.
About 50 members of Connecticut Citizens for Immigration Control held a demonstration at Kennedy Park. The park is a gathering place for day laborers looking for work. The protesters were asking officials to arrest employers who hire illegal aliens. Many demonstrators say day laborers are taking work away from citizens.
However, across the street from the rally, people were promoting immigration rights. They say illegal workers have a right to be protected.
