Lawyers for a man who killed three people in Bridgeport six years ago are asking for a life prison sentence instead of the death penalty.
Lawyers for Richard Roszkowski filed papers yesterday saying he should not go through a penalty phase trial because the state repealed the death penalty earlier this year.
That repeal was only for future cases.
Roszkowski was originally sentenced to death in 2009 for killing Holly Flannery, her daughter Kylie and Thomas Gaudet, but the sentence was later thrown out and a new penalty phase ordered.
